Young persons as well as mature adults are taking up the game of golf which is now enjoying a growing global trend in popularity and prime time television coverage. Young Barbadian players are learning this new sporting skill and enjoying the competition while mature players join friends and colleagues in regular competitive play and networking around this game that will extend fitness and social life well into their senior years.
Membership in the Barbados Golf Club opens up many benefits to golfers and also gives them a voice in the operation of the club. Benefits associated with annual membership:
- Unlimited golf (does not apply to Weekday and Beginners memberships.
- Preferential tee time booking – members may book up to one week in advance.
- Preferential cart rate.
- Restaurant/bar credit facility.
- 10% discount on restaurant and bar purchases.
- 10% discount on merchandise at the pro shop.
- Preferential entry fees for our exciting tournament calendar.
- Invitations to play in member events at other golf clubs on the island.
- Designated area for “members only” parking.
- Lockers on a first come-first served basis.
- Member guest discounts - your guests will benefit from the best pay & play rates that we offer.
- Automatic BGA Membership for VIP Platinum & Full Membership only.
- Members Easy-pay plan - 3 months' deposit necessary in 2010. Balance payable in 6 months, interest free. (VIP Platinum & Full Membership only).
- Corporations with 3 or more members that increase their number of members in 2010, will benefit from a 33% discount for those new members.
- Beginner Memberships - complete introduction to the game, in affordable quarterly stages.
- Family Membership - 25% discount off additional immediate family members that join. Family members are limited to spouse, children (non Junior) & siblings.
There are several classes of membership that cater to the individual needs of players ranging from beginners through to retirees. The classes of membership include:
VIP Platinum Membership: - Rates include unlimited cart usage, unlimited driving range balls, BGA Membership, 15% off visitor member guest fees, 4 complimentary guest cards, tee time booking window of 14 days, entry fees waived for Member tournaments (i.e. Monthly Medals, Christmas Hamper). Shareholder BDS $9,372.50, non-shareholder $10,005.00.
Full Membership: – Guarantees unlimited golf and a full list of benefits.
Shareholder BDS $5,876.50, non-shareholder BDS $6,497.50.
Family Membership: – A 25% discount is granted on full membership fees for the second and subsequent family members.
Corporate Membership: - Corporations wishing to join three (3) or more members will receive a 25% discount on the third and additional memberships thereafter. Corporations with 3 or more members in 2009 that increase their number of 2010 members, will benefit from a 33% discount on those new members' fees.
Junior Membership: - Applies to Juniors aged 18 & under or 25 & under pursuing full time studies at a college or university. $900.00
Beginners Membership: - Quarterly
Q1 - Series of 5 lessons and practice rounds during off peak tee times - $600.00.
Q2 - 12 x 9 hole rounds - $600.00 with clubs & trolley.
Q3 - 12 x 9 hole rounds - $600.00 6 x 18 hole rounds - $300.00
Q4 - unlimited golf & member privileges - $1,200.00
Weekday Membership: - Unlimited golf on Mondays to Fridays only. $4,899.00
Visitors Membership: - $625.00 per month (Minimum charge is 3 months ($1,875.00). Cart option is available at $210.00 per month (Minimum charge is 6 months ($1,260.00).
Membership with Golf Cart: - All classes of membership may purchase cart membership which entitles them to personal unlimited carts usage, but does not include or permit any other rider to have free use of the cart. BDS$2,501.25
All fees are quoted in Barbados dollars (US$1 = BDS$2) and are VAT-inclusive.
